sigle fin for shortboard?

sigle fin for shortboard?

Postby dontlikeoc » Sun May 01, 2005 4:33 pm

Hi,

I am thinking of shaping my own board from a blank for the first time. I have naive questions...

1) It is so tempting to install just one fin instead of three. The single fin sets available from a foam place seem to be for longboards(9" to 10"). Is there something really wrong to install a single fin?

2) I am 6' tall and weigh 200 lb. I am worried if a 6'8- 7' short board may not give me enough floatation. Do heavy people out there have any advice?

Look at the purpose of having different fin setups. Look at other boards and how they work, then ask yourself what do YOU want from the board.

Design accordingly...
