Hey
Has anyone surfed both an Al Merrick Fishcuit and Biscuit? Which one did you prefer? what differences did you find between them?

I have surfed a 5´8´´ Pod and a fishcuit i cant remember its size.
I felt much more comfortable on the pod cause it handled more like a regular thruster. Similar to a Rusty Piranha thruster i have, except it felt way lighter.
I couldnt get used to the mass on the fishcuit. It felt more like a traditional fish, it´s foil its more fishish than the one on the pod.
I tried them on diferent days but generally the fishcuit felt faster, felt clumsier on it. I had troubles on bottom turns, while i inmediatly felt comfortable on the pod.

The biscuit seems to have the same foil and lines of the fishcuit excpet its a thruster and has a diferent tail thats going to let it turn more like a regular shortboard, unlike the fishcuit where you have still a very wide tail behing your back foot. The quad setup and fishier foil will make the fishcuit a faster, looser board.

Just my .02 cents. And take them for what it´s worth. Im still in the learning phase.

I rode a 5'2"Biscuit on Saturday; Loved it. With g3's & a small gx trailer in the middle. Loose, fun & floaty. It'll be my next board. A fantastic fish alternative for small days. It's just a short, fat & thick thruster really...
Being a fish guy I loved it's slightly more thruster feel. But still small with heaps of volume.

In my humble opinion, a fishcuit is trying to be too many things. A fish, a biscuit & a quad.
Better off to get a biscuit, a fish, and a larger more refined thruster/quad for good surf days.

Ironically the Biscuit's volume & size when I first picked it up reminded me of the very first thrusters circa 1981-2. People forget they've literally halved in volume over the years.

I know you didn't really ask about it, but I have heard good things about the pod as well.
