first installment of this years student loan being spent wisely  the 5/3mm 2008/09 suit reduced from £235 to £170 which came with hood and boots.

anyone else got this suit? my e bomb has had it and i decided to get a better suit in time for winter rolling in. how good is it? warm enough for those mid winter sessions? better than / worse than which others? I was temped by the xcel infinity but was too pricey!

hopefully theres a wave tomorrow so i can try her out :D

bought the platinum 5/4/3 a month ago, and so far so good. Has been warm enough for me so far (its about 14 degrees C in the water) but the real test will be around Dec to Feb when it drops to about 4 degrees C, and thats not including the wind

How are you finding yours?

im loving the new suit! i actually didnt buy the 5/3 i got the 5/4/3 similar to your platinum so warmer! it came with a hood which will be useful. ive used the suit twice now and have to say its very warm and very very flexible. im pleased i forked out the cash for this! hopefully it will last me a few years too. AND, it looks slick :)

aaaaaaaahahahahahahahaha - student loan - hahahahahaha

I spent mine ( a while ago ) on kayaking in the alps !

Ate crap for a couple of months to make up for it though !

Anyways – good effort there – dedication to the cause.

I had a Sola 5mil sommit and it was fine up to about four or five hours in the harshest wind and cold so you should get a really good session out of yours.

Safety Tip :
Remember – if you think you are starting to make poor decisions when trying to catch waves, like “Dam I took that late” as you go over the falls all the time, you are getting too cold so get back into the warm please ! ( it might be early hypothermia so go get warmed up ).

And Eat :
Your body needs food to use as heat and energy so have a munch on sommit before you go in the water in the winter (unless you live somewhere hot you lucky sods !).

Have a good surf and may the ice-cream headache not rear it’s ugly head in your new ‘suit.
