Mystery Board

Mystery Board

Postby tomandersonn » Mon Aug 11, 2008 5:47 pm

Hi All,
Long time reader first time poster.
I have been surfing a couple times a week for about 2 months now on a $50 foam 6ft board and am looking to upgrade just a tad.

I found a guy selling a board locally for $100 it is a 6ft mystery board.
Anyone recognize this logo?

It is 6ft long, funboard style (as far as I can tell), and for $100 it sounded pretty solid to me, if anyone has any feedback on this board for a 5'8 150lb semi beginner I would gladly welcome it.

Thanks,

Tom

Found out that it is SCS and has "Bully's" at the bottom but still not sure on the brand/value of this board for a beginner.

at the very bottom it says "Bully's" in black type, not sure on this board, not familiar with the brand and not sure if it is worth the 100 bones.

got some pics of the board, if anyone has any idea on the brand and if it (6'2) is a decent board for a semi beginner (been learning and standing up on a 6ft foamie but it is flexing a lot)
The price is $100, board has no major dings, cracks, etc.
Thanks again for the input.

a real board is a lot harder to use than a foamy. up to you but the easyer option would be to go for something slightly bigger.

You'd do alot better on a mini mal but if your really determined you might be able to make it work

Just out of curiosity why is that?

foamies are wide and thick making them really buoyant. fiberglass boards and epoxies, especially shortboards are a lot thinner making them less buoyant and therefore harder to balance on.

Ah that makes sense, I think this board is wider than my foamie and would you say this board is a shortboard or fun shaped?

Between those 2 boards will I notice much of a difference (the board in pics vs the foamie in link)

Thanks again for all the helpful feedback.
