Short wetsuit over full suit?

I seen a guy wearing a short wetsuit over a full 3mm wetsuit he seemed to reckon it worked ok instead of buying a winter suit as he hardly gets surfing over winter.

Has anybody else tried this i would've thought it would be more restrictive wearing 2 suits but he reckoned it wasn't too bad.He said he got the idea from diving as a lot of divers wear short suits under or over their full suits for extra heat.

I have never seen that before, i think it might be very restrictive though !

Yep thats what i thought but the guy didn't think! Looked a bit strange though!

Just had to ask him about it as i've never seen anybody do this before!

nah, doesn't make much difference, apart from making surfing harder than it already is, might block the wind better

when i did my diving here i wore a 7mm long with a 5mm shortie and felt fine, in and out of the water.

Was a bitch to get into though!
