Good luck finding a crew! My friends and I just got started a few months ago and surf in the Santa Monica area on the weekends. We really enjoy it!

Keep us informed on how things go!

Thanks guys, too bad you all live so far away! Being a beginner kinda sucks, it seems like every time I go there are a bunch of kids that get between me and the beach and Im scared to get a wave cuz I might run into them. The further I move down the beach the more they get in my way! Arent these kids in school yet?? Haha

I think the same thing every day, so I don't really get out too much. Sorry I can't be of help to you as I am in Orange County. As for the kids, most of the schools just started this week, some don't even start until next week, as the teachers did not want to have to go back before the labor day weekend.

San Diego here, but I lived in Ventura from 1976 - 1978. Plenty of good breaks up there. As a beginner, I would recommend the Pier, progressing to Fairgrounds and then to Rincon Del Diablo.

Keep the stoke!

What's up Kayla? I'm in Ventura. I just moved here 6 months or so... so I'm a kook also. Where you been surfing? How often do you go? I spend a lot of time at Mondo's... that seems to be a pretty slow beginner break.
