which board for a beginner

Hi

I had last weekend my first surfing lessons. Now I would like buy a surfboard and wetsuit. Can someone give me advice which board and how tail should I buy my board. My friend recommended me a 7'5'' egg shape board. I'm 5'9'' and my weight is 160 lbs.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

If you do a search on this topic there are heaps and heaps of replies about suitable beginners boards,including some relevant to your weight etc. Best to start there as you will almost certainly find an answer to your question.
