Very new, a couple questions. Please help?

Alright so I'm pretty new to surfing, been surfing since August. I got a $100 costco 8 ft foam longboard & I like it. The only problem is that me being a 105 lb., 5'4" girl, well it doesn't really work out too well (carrying it and stuff). The hardest thing for me is getting out there. I live near Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood/Miami area. The waves aren't very good here, but they can be rough (for a beginner) and I can't get out there! My arms get so tired. Are there any particular exercises that would be good for me to do? I actually tried sticking my board in the pool the other day and it was rather fun. Will that help with my balance?
What wave height should I stick to since I'm a beginner?
Should I get a wetsuit or a springsuit, and when will I need it for the area I live in? (specific examples would be nice since there's also the thickness factor).
When are the best times to surf? Just in general like when do you like to go out?
Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

hi heres a good book on surf fitness The Complete Guide to Surfing Fitness but the more you surf the fitter you will get. as for getthing out back try picking clean days with a long wave period thats the time between waves that most surf forcast sites tell you means you can paddle out between waves or sets.
