Sizes?

Hey guys i've been surfing on a 7'6 funboard for about a four months but i think longboarding might be my thing. I tried my friends 9'2 and loved the way it felt, but i thought it might have been too long. I was talking to this guy over at becker's and he said for my height and weight, 5'9 150 pounds, i should go for an 8'6, anything else would be too big. Would i be able to noseride and 8'6 or should i just go for a 9'?

If you want to longboard get a longboard, 8'6" isnt a longboard

Do you think a 9' stewart colin pro would be good for me? There is a used one in good shape at a good price, would it be too high performance for my level of experience? I am 5'9 150lbs and ive been surfing for about five months and i am pretty good on my funboard. Thanks

Honestly? probably not, doesnt look like its geared as a wave catching all round noseriding mal thing but mroe a perfomance board, not wat you want

HB,
a plain ol' longboard will be a good value. A performance board may not be much fun due to experience. You may be interested to know:

1) I've taught quite a few people to surf better and have more fun by switching them from fun boards to 9 foot longboards (men and women included)
2) we're about the same height and weight and regular 9 foot longboard works very well for me
3) have a smaller buddy that uses a 9ft 4in board. It's a lot of board for someone his size, but he is an excellant swimmer. However, getting out in bigger surf or at beach with regularly breaking waves is too much for even him (get a 9ft like I have)
