Webber Afterburner?

Anyone riding one of these?

I'm looking for a good board for Nova Scotia conditions which are a little mushy at times.

There's a good little afterburner hanging out in a shop, any feedback on the board?

I'm loooking for something that i can really drive out the turns in but not a potatoe chip

It is a good beginners shortboard, but if your into high performance it lacks a bit. Turn's are generally thicker and more swingy..but it definately has a lot of speed.

A board I personally would recommend if waves are not greatly powerful, but not windchop..and if you want a board that has speed.

What would you recommend for slightly mushy waves that gives nice snappy turns and speed?

i've heard the lack of flex makes the board a little un responsive. Any comments on tufflite anoyone?

I have a webber and i love it...unfortuntelly i have no idea which model...it's should be also kind of beginner board, 6.6 tall... Everyone here in Australia told me it's really a good board..from a shaper just north from here..Mr. Webber:) It's my first surfboard and so far it's perfect.

Fish type boards would be good for all of that!

fishes aren't very snappy I find. A lot of curvy lines and sprays. I suppose if you have gutless waves then it would be good.

I still don't see why everyone in the UK rides a fish..but not split tail fish..you all seem to ride mahooooosive swallow tail fishes that look like they could take off!

This thing turns on a dime and is damn fast too! You can turn as little or as much as you want (i.e. long drawn out carves or quick snappy turns).

Fishes can turn well in small waves due to the fact that it's actually on plane, so it turns correctly. With that kind of width, it would be very tight without the swallow tail, which loosens it up significantly.

Yeah, I deffinately like so far; with the limited time I've had with it.

It takes some getting used to; with it being so short.
It seems like with the wide nose though it catches waves easier than the 6'6" thruster I've got. And, it hasn't been difficult to paddle around either; which I thought might be a problem.

It's all about positioning and popping-up fast!

I just picked up a 6'2"x 20.5ish x 2 5/8 fish that I'm fixing up. Surfed it once so far, the only thing I don't really like is that I'm kinda in no mans land between the longboarders and shortboarders, but I can deal with that.

So is the nose like....at your neck? That could hurt....

It is a very nice board to ride , a lot of guys ride webber boards esp the afterburner a around the northern beaches including me ...with carbon fcs fins.

No, I could lay my head down and it wouldn't be sticking over the edge. It would be pretty close though. If I recall correctly; my wrist and some of my forearm sticks over the edge when I hold my arm out straight.

Yeah, mine is pretty long for a fish, but it's not a full retro fish, it's a bit narrower through the tail and nose, and is a winger.

So the length balances out for some of the volume lost in the tail. And its not a really deep swallow tail.

So it's a true modern fish, not a shortboard with a swallow tail like it has become. I would have liked a retro, but I got a killer deal on it.

Retro fish is on the shaping list. Pretty far down though.
