what tail shape?

what tail shape?

Postby patman89 » Wed Jun 28, 2006 6:48 pm

I plan to buy a bigger surfboard for this coming winter. I know that pin tails and round pins handle the best in larger surf, but the shaper that I like only sells squash and swallow tails. So how do swallow tails handle in big surf compared to round pin and pin tails?

it tells you a lot about the different tail shapes.

Squash will deffinately be better, but...

I'd look at getting a board from someone else if that's how they're going to be.

Will this shaper not do you an alternative tail shape then? Or would that end up costing too much?
Shapers should be open to discussion as to what their surfers want.

Thanks eveyone for your input. The surfboard shaper I like is using new tech. so thats why he only offers swallow tails right now.
