WHAT I AM LEARNING ON

my advice is to learn on something with alot of Byouancy, easy to paddle. I found that the 7'9 Bic board is a great board to learn on because of the above. Then once you get the hang of it and get better at paddling move on to ur shortboard

yeah u can go and keep with teh shortie but you will probably end up hating the extreme sport and having nasty experiences and never want to do it agen, try with the funboards and if u like keep at it but i wudnt start recommendin on ure shortie cos all u will get from it at first is total bordom and pain lol. get the most fun out of the sport as poss, thats what its all about, u wont get anyfun from wipein out every wave and gettin washed onto the beach cos u dont know how 2 paddle properly etc etc :D i agree with laguna so u should hire out a few big boards and see how u get on, or maybe just have 1 or 2 surf lessons.
