Longboarders dropping in infront of me

That must be a great swell on a really good bottom contour. Ours are only 20-50 yard rides, 75-100 on storm swells. It must be rough to paddle out on such a long beach break!!!

Make sure you give a really lound "YEP" or "OI" to anyone who drops in on you.

Hate dropins and snakes. I'm a longboarder, and I share waves...

Not a good idea, cos if a fight starts....well..its just not what surfing is about!

I remember one drop-in got nasty after I "OI'ed him. Took a swing at me when I got out. I was in a good modd so just lightly tapped his face after Dai-Sau'ing the swing off.

Over a decade of Wing-Chun comes in handy occasionally.

Moral of the story? Will this guy was several inches bigger than me and probably ten kilos heavier. I suppose he thought he could scare and dominate me. Violence - usually goes wrong in unexpected ways.

It seems like longboarders are always the ones dropping in infront of me, its not that shortboarders dont cut me off on a wave to sometimes its just that longboarders are always getting in my way. do you guys think its because they have less commen decency or do they just tend to catch the shoulder rather than the peak of the wave.

i've never had 1 drop in on me, but once when i was surfing at agnes water in queensland on a short board, this kid on a long board kept taking off on the shoulder when he could clearly see it was my wave (he was watching me paddling for the wave while he took off, and he had an eeeevvvilll grin on his face )
