Thruster Fin set up

Thruster Fin set up

Postby dream2live » Fri Mar 01, 2013 3:22 pm

Good day,

I recently scored a 2nd hand Dumpster Diver off a friend and surfed it once, i must say its def a nice board. alot better than the 6'0 custom i used before.

I'm currently using genric fins, I lost a couple of sets already so recycling whatever i have. the 3 im using are almost the same shape and all. the board surfs fine, but i'm sure a new fin set would feel a lot better.

so i'm trying to do some research, and alot of the jargon is mind blowing! i've read that the best set would be FCS K2.1 for small waves.. i dont want to have to buy a set just bec King Kelly endorses it... but would like to know your input.

my DD is 5'10 x20 and i generally surf small waves knee -shoulder high.

Thanks!

I like them, the center fin is actually about a size 3, so it makes for a loos board with easy turns. I use an M5 center fin when it's bigger, and put back the center fin when it's smaller.

You might check with your local surf shop as some surf shops have demo FCS fins. It is always nice if you can try some out before you buy.

I can build you hollow F1 Grand Prix car rated carbon fins to every infinitesimal spec you could never imagine . . . Just go surf . . . a fin is only as good as its rider.
