I'm guessing, as you don't know if it's a good buy, that you haven't been surfing long. If that's the case, No, it's far too small.
Your goal shouldn't be to get on a small board as soon as possible, it should be to surf and have as much fun as possible.

Moss Research makes great boards, totally worth buying. Not sure if you are asking about the brand or size, but if you are looking for that size Moss Research are high quality and reputation.
