i still can't get over that triple stringer, how heavy is the board in comparison to a normal (one stringer) board? obviously the size too but is it all that much heavier?

Yep, definitely heavier. If you know surfboards then the weight like I wrapped it in volan cloth instead of regular cloth, so heavier but not that bad.

I would not recommend it for a performance shortboard, but for a fish, mal or gun it's perferct, it should last me forever. Plus for big wave conditions a heavier board is actually better, more of that longboard glide that will help you get into wave and drop down fast.

Ok, so I've preety much had it on hold waiting for a big swell and finally got it. Hit Baja twice, about overhead and a half + and barreling on some recent south swells and once at Churches in the O.C.

Pluses: Great board, super easy to paddle into waves and amazingly it has some action to it even for that size. The narrow long outline is spot on for big waves, I think the biggest wave I caught had about a 12ft face and no problems getting in. The heavy tripple stringer did exactly what I thought, cut through chop and helped me drop in in steeper take offs.

Minues: Stiff, which I like most of the time but I could tell that a more flexible board would have given me a smoother ride. Holds high in the pocket, nothing wrong with that, just used to more cutbacks and slashes than trimming.

All in all 9.5 out of 10
