Dumpster diver or Fred rubble

Im new to shortboards I find it extremely hard to paddle so between the two I heard the wider the board that would help so which should I go with

Fred rubble in my oppinion, but not because one paddles better than the other, because of the tail. I use a thumb tail board because I like a smoot snap, the squash is just a little too jerky for me. So, folliwing that thinking, the rounded squash tail of the fred will be easier for a begginer than the diver.

I would say the Fred Rubble as well. My good friend just took one to Cordon Surf Resort and loved his so much he ordered another one. You can get more info here:

Actually the cold water classic happening right now. The fred seems pretty popular. Seen a few tearing it up on pretty slow moving waves.

I ride a fred rubble and its the best board I've ever had, BUT if you are new to shortboards a dumpster diver would be a bit better for catching waves and more stable while riding. Also depends on the waves you'll be surfing: ankle biters to chest or head high= dumpster diver, but if you plan on surfing anything overhead or a lot of head high surf than I'd go fred rubble.
