North Carolina
Region name * This polygon has surfspots
North Carolina is located on the Atlantic Seaboard in the southeastern United States. The state borders South Carolina and Georgia to the south, Tennessee to the west and Virginia to the north. North Carolina contains 100 counties. Its largest city is Charlotte and its capital is Raleigh. North Carolina was one of the original English Thirteen Colonies, and was originally known as Province of Carolina. The state is approx 150 wide by 560 miles long and has a population of 9.4 million. Fortunately, not all of them surf!
All the swell is produced from the Atlantic. The best surfing conditions are found in Autumn and Winter. The water is cold at this time of the year. Be prepared to surf with lots of other people, things can get pretty hectic at some of the better spots along the North Carolina Coast.
