Even though lots of people surf here, there is around 7km of beach so you can usually find a good uncrowded peak. It jacks up quick and pounds straight down HARD, so you won't find any longboarders here.

How to get there Drive south from Jaco Beach on the Coastal Highway 34, go around Punta Guapinol, come to a small town of hotels and some houses, take semi-paved road after last building, stop wherever you see a peak.

Takes about 5 min from Jaco. Always people surfing/watching at "the Tree". The small town is sometimes called Pochotal on maps. Access & Parking Info / Cost Road runs right along beach for almost entire length so great free access anywhere, but watch valuables in car, they will get stolen. Where to Stay A couple Hotel right in Pochotal/Hermosa or you can stay in Jaco which has everything Equipment Hire Some shoppes in Hermosa, but you are better off renting in Jaco, better selection Surf Schools Once again, everything can be found in Jaco When its Flat? Cheap beer, cheap smokes, cheap women. Did I say that? Practice your spanish. "Me gusta sus pechugas."
