Like Barbados, winter is a great time for surf on the north which picks up plenty of swell and gets good clean constant waves - essential for a great surfing vacation. The North Atlantic swells send waves down all year long

The main surf on the north coast is situated around Puerto Plata where there are a number of easily accessible surf spots. Many are relatively uncrowded ensuring tonnes of waves.
