Surf Spot Map of North Devon
North Devon has numerous good quality and varied breaks. It's location takes advantage of the powerful swells from the Atlantic ocean that occur throughout the year. Due to the quality and consistency for the waves in Devon, many surfers travel to surf along this coast. As a result the are is often very busy and the days of finding empty waves have all but disappeared. Croyde is probably the best wave in North Devon and is considered to be a world class beach break. It has a thriving surf scene and several surf shops (equipment hire available).
Some of the waves around this coast can be board breakers - you might want to consider bringing a couple of boards along just in case.
