Surf Spot Details

Wave Quality Rating4 Type of WaveReef break Direction of WaveRight BottomBoulders DifficultyAdvanced surfer Crowd LevelCan Get Busy Hazardsnone General DescriptionFairy Bower. Manly. Rated No#17 out of Australia's top 200 surf spots. Right hand point break. Shallow rocks mostly but the wave starts at the famous "Winki Pop"... No, not the one at Bells. "Winki" is a ledge that starts the wave off with a decent tube section which opens up a nice wall section called "suck up". Many guys will sit around the rock at suck up and start their wave here. The wave then works its way around the headland to the fianl section called race course. Race course is a good beginners and grommets area. The Bower can handle some pretty big surf and is popular when all else is maxed out. Works on NE, SE and Easterly swells. Ranges from 3foot up. Fairly powerful wave, not for the light hearted.
