Papua New Guinea Surf Spot Map The main Papua New Guinea surfing season is between November and April, and receives regular swells of between 3 to 6ft, and November is the time of choice due to the lack of winds. Early morning is best to take advantage of the offshore winds, but the nature of the reefs should ensure that there is always somewhere that is offshore if you are prepared to have a look. The uncrowded surf ensures that you have a magical trip. Waves to note are Piccinniny and Long-Long. There is also plenty of potential for a bit of exploration. Surf camps and boat trips are cropping up all the time, adding an extra dimention the Papua New Guinea surf scene.
