Surf Spot Details

Wave Quality Rating 4 Type of Wave Reef break Direction of Wave Right Bottom Rocky reef Difficulty Advanced surfer Crowd Level Can Get Busy Hazards Locals, Rocks, Rips General Description Dee Why Point in Sydneys North is a fairly exposed point break that has dependable surf. A dredging, semi-evil right-hand barrel that breaks hard over a shallow rock platform. When the swell exceeds 1.m The Point starts to cook, holding up to 4 m. The wave starts with a steep take off and fast tube section over the rock shelf (First rock). The tube section from first rock is followed by a fast wAll section that will tube again on low tide, and this is followed by a fairly a full shoulder section that can then meet up with the beach break. Popular wave but not for the inexperienced reef/point rider.
