Ghana
Region name * This polygon has surfspots
Ghana is located in Western Africa, bordering the Gulf of Guinea, between Cote d'Ivoire and Togo. Ghana was formed from the merger of the British colony of the Gold Coast and the Togoland trust territory, Ghana in 1957 became the first sub-Saharan country in colonial Africa to gain its independence. Ghana has a tropical climate, is warm and dry along southeast coast while hot and humid in southwest. Just for the record it is hot and dry in north - but that is of little interest to a surfer who will be sticking to the south coast.
Nowhere else but Africa offers such scope for adventure and discovery. Empty waves are just waiting to be discovered and surfed. The warm water and hot sunny days provide superb conditions for searching out new breaks.
Make sure you have a 4WD ready to go!
