La Torche

Surf Spot Details

Wave Quality Rating 1 Type of Wave Point break Direction of Wave Left Bottom Sand Difficulty Intermediate surfer Crowd Level Busy Hazards none General Description La Torche is right hand point break and also a beach break in the bay. Due to its quality is gets very popular. The wave starts breaking at 1ft and will break up to a rideable 25ft in the right conditions. The spot works best on a westerly but will work on a northerly or a south west swell. Rips can be a problem here on the bigger swells but can also be used to get out quickly to the lineup. Hang around and watch the locals show you the way before you paddle out. It's consistent, works on most swells and all tides, not too shabby!
