Mostly the surf breaks on the left and/or right side of the pier. The spot works best on a mid to high tide on the push. Generally a northerly or a north westerly swell will produce waves. The pier does provide a little shelter from the wind. As with many surf spots around the North Norfolk coast rips can be particularly bad.

How to get there Head to North Norfolk. Take the A140 from Norwich and Cromer is signposted from there. Access & Parking Info / CostHead straight down the front. In winter you can park on the Promenade without much problem. Don't bother in the summer. It's best to park on the way out of town on the coast road. Get there early in the summer as parking is a premium. Where to Stay Loads of places to stay in and around Cromer. There are plenty of Bed and Breakfasts that you would expect from a popular holiday resort. There are also several camp grounds within a couple of miles. There is a local cinema showing the latest movies. Cromer has a nice Golf Course but it is quite pricey at >50 quid. (Driving range is cheaper). Pitch and Putt available on the Meadow. If you are around in August try to make the Cromer Carnival. A bit of a piss up for the locals and the Red Arrows normally visit - oooh!
