Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was of course a famous French painter in fin de siecle Paris who had a penchant for absinthe and whose legs did not grow since breaking them as a chso that his full-grown adult height was 1.54m. He didn't paint anything even remotely similar to the pattern on this skirt (as far as I know) but I am fairly convinced he would have liked it. Especially since the skirt has been put through a softener wash and is made of lightweight modal so swishes around beautifully. Not to mention the embroidered Animal branding on the hip- he definitely would have appreciated that.
