| This year we got to follow from up the very first GLOBE WCT FIJI—voted best surf contest on the planet by the ASP surfers—with another event blessed with filthy surf and standout performances. Dubbed the sickest event on the planet, the contest went down between May 21st and June 1st, 2006, with Damien Hobgood taking the top honors. We approached this year's event with two goals: 1. Make sure we don't mess up a good thing; and 2. Put a Globe stamp of fun on it.
